My proposed project is a cybersecurity awareness website designed to educate users about common online threats and provide practical guidance on how to protect themselves in the digital world. As internet usage continues to increase for communication, education, banking, and shopping, more individuals are exposed to cyber risks such as phishing attacks, malware infections, identity theft, and data breaches. Unfortunately, many users lack the knowledge needed to recognize these threats, making them vulnerable to cyberattacks. This project aims to improve cybersecurity awareness by presenting clear, simple, and useful information in an accessible online format. The website will include multiple sections covering essential cybersecurity topics. One section will explain password security and provide guidance on creating strong passwords, avoiding password reuse, and using password managers. Another section will focus on phishing detection, teaching users how to identify suspicious emails, fake login pages, and harmful links. Additional sections will cover safe browsing practices, malware awareness, social engineering, and the importance of software updates and multi-factor authentication. To improve engagement and learning outcomes, the website will include interactive features such as quizzes and real-life cybersecurity scenarios. These tools will allow users to test their understanding and apply what they have learned in practical situations. The content will be presented in a beginner-friendly and user-focused way so that people with little technical knowledge can still understand and benefit from it. This project will be hosted on a cloud-based server using Microsoft Azure, allowing it to be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection. Hosting the website in the cloud also demonstrates practical use of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) technology and web deployment concepts. Overall, the goal of this project is to promote safer online behaviour and help users develop stronger cybersecurity habits in their daily digital activities.
